Weakened by a Smile

Spending time on the road is one of the things that I hate the most. With traffic congestion almost all the time, it seems like the problem could never end in a big city like Kuala Lumpur. Driving is one thing that I'm sure would be fun since the first day I got my drivers license but now, it has become just another pain in the butt. No excitement what so ever lies when driving a car in the big city, no adventurous tale along the trip, nothing at all.  

 
It is a major buzzkill.

It's 8 pm and I'm still stuck on the road. My mind keeps wondering about which alternative routes that I can take. But when you are driving about 5 km per hour, to reach another intersection would takes a long time. I tried to calm my self down. I waited.

'Ha... That's it. A quick route just for me so I can get out of this mess'.

I'm drive steadily and trying to get to the shortcut as quickly yet carefully as I can. Suddenly, a black car just recklessly overtook me.

'This is it'. My patience is wearing thin and I just think that this reckless driver should be stopped right now.

'Woi #$#&%)4_*&*(* !!! I'm gonna hunt you down !!!' 

I followed the car with a rage. I'm sure I gonna curse the driver with every word that I know. Saying 'I'm sorry' to me is just not enough to make me calm right now.

There's a traffic light ahead. This is my chance. When the traffic light goes red, both of our cars stopped side by side. I'm lowering my window down and prepare. And I turned and looked to his face with a lot of anger in my eyes.

Huh ???


'Hey, I'm sorry', she said.

Wait a minute. I thought the driver of the car is a man. What the hell is going on ? A glimpsed back then was clear enough. I'm pretty sure the driver was a man. How can it be a woman ? Is there something in my eye? Is this a trick ? I just can believe it.

The traffic lights turn green. And I still can believe what I'm seeing. 

'I gotta go now. I'm really sorry for everything, okay. See you.Bye'. She smiled and waved her hands and just drove through, leaving me behind.

'Damn. A girls smile really puts me down. I'm really weak'
